PTZ Optics cameras showed up on our radar in 2018. They boasted affordable broadcast quality video. So, we took a chance on them since they were coming in at about half the competitor’s price at the time. Since that first experience we have been hooked and depend on their cameras for successful and affordable installs. Here are some reasons we choose PTZ Optics cameras more often than not:
Excellent picture quality
The image quality whether over SDI, HDMI, USB, or NDI is excellent! True broadcast quality. The zoom is smooth, powerful , and clear. They can deliver multiple different resolutions but have no problem producing the finest 1080p feed. Also, they are no featuring some cameras with 4K resolution capabilities.
Affordable
These cameras still come in a bit below the big names but delivery just as high of quality image. They are worth every cent!
They work!
These cameras are easy to install. Once installed they are easy to control with their free PTZ control application, amongst other options. The auto exposure, focus, and white balance produce an excellent picture almost 100% of the time. When they don’t it is easy to navigate the OSD and correct these issues. They are very stable on the network and easy to program. Their hardware is very reliable and durable! Once we install these cameras they work and we rarely run into any call back issues.
NDI capability
One of our favorite perks then as now is that power and control can be provided over a single CAT6 cable. Also, in 2018 the NDI video protocol feature made it possible to add video to that single CAT6 cable. This made it possible for a camera can be installed with one cable! Since our first NDI based system was installed we have fully embraced this technology and this single cable method saves money for the customer by cutting back on material and labor needed to get a camera operational. Instead of multiple cable types, connector terminations, etc. There is one small cable with a simple termination.
